Welcome to the TallySnapp user manual. This guide will help you get the most out of your tally counter app, whether you’re tracking fitness goals, managing inventory, or just counting coffee cups.

1. Getting Started

Creating your first counter

When you first open the app, you’ll be greeted by an empty screen.

  1. Tap the ”+” (Plus) button in the bottom right corner (or choose from a template during the welcome flow).
  2. Give your counter a Name (e.g., “Water Intake”).
  3. Choose a Starting Value if you’re not beginning from zero.
  4. Tap Create to save.

2. Using the Counter

Basic Counting

  • Increment: Tap the large ”+” button to increase the count.
  • Decrement: Tap the ”−” button to decrease the count (available in “Up & Down” mode).

Custom Amounts (Advanced)

Need to add 10 at once?

  • Long-press the ”+” or ”−” button.
  • Enter the specific amount you want to add or subtract.
  • This is perfect for tracking calories, money, or large inventory batches.

3. Customizing your Experience

Icons and Colors

Make your counters easy to identify at a glance.

  1. Long-press a counter card to open the Context Menu.
  2. Select Configure.
  3. Choose from dozens of icons and a variety of vibrant colors.

List vs. Grid View

You can change how your counters are displayed:

  • Use the Grid View to see many counters at once.
  • Use the List View for a detailed, vertical look.
  • Use the Individual View to focus on a single counter with large, easy-to-tap buttons.

4. Data and Privacy

Exporting to CSV

Your data is yours. You can export your counts to use in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.

  1. Open the Settings menu.
  2. Select Export as CSV.
  3. Choose the counters you want to export and save the file.

Sharing as an Image

Want to show off your progress?

  1. Tap the Share icon on a counter or in the settings.
  2. Choose a beautiful design template.
  3. Share the generated image directly to social media or messaging apps.

Privacy First

TallySnapp is built with privacy in mind. All your data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your counters, and your data never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share it.

5. Install as an App (Web Version)

If you are using the Web version of TallySnapp, you can install it on your home screen just like a native app.

On iPhone (Safari)

  1. Tap the Share button in Safari (the square with an up arrow).
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. Confirm the name and tap Add.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Tap the three dots menu in the top right.
  2. Tap Install App or Add to Home Screen.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
